Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival "PAAFF" 2016

The first event of its kind in Philadelphia - a film festival celebrating and elevating the Asian American experience. Since 2008 PAAFF is proud to have presented dozens of culturally relevant films and exciting programming to broad and diverse audiences from Chinatown to Center City to University City.

 

Vijay Mohan Social Change Award

"PAAFF" 2016

Vijay Krishna Mohan was a filmmaker, musician, activist, author, and beloved member of the PAAFF staff who passed away in 2015 after a cycling accident,  Starting in 2015 we began giving an award in his name to the film or filmmaker who best embodies Vijay's spirit of transformative change through media. 

 

We felt that Dear Thalia was the most deserving film because of the positive impact it has had in the Martin family's lives, and your film's broader potential for creating dialogue on the many causes of homelessness.
